POWER YOGA
Power yoga is a class designed for students who
love to work hard, but to work hard using mindful intention and full
awareness of one’s body.
Classes will emphasize strength and flexibility;
will combine core work, balance, and flow; and will invite students
to experiment with challenging poses in a safe and supportive
environment.
Power Yoga is done by doing a series of Yoga
Poses while synchronizing one's breathing patterns to each movement
and is a perfect class for athletes who wish
to strengthen and stretch weak links.
Some yoga experience beneficial. Modifications always offered.
IYENGAR STYLE YOGA
Iyengar style is an alignment-based
class that emphasizes joint stability and strength, muscle
flexibility and conscious breathing. This style is energetic and
joyful with detailed instructions that enable all students,
including beginners, to feel confident and comfortable in class. We
will focus on and empower the things you can do and not the things
you can not.
FOUNDATION
FLOW:
For beginners that have built a foundation
and intermediates that are looking for a gentler flow. This class
will increase strength, flexibility, awareness and encourage mental
focus and calmness and is a great introduction to ALL Levels,
Intermediate, and Heated yoga.
DEEP
STRETCH:
This is a wonderful class for everyone,
beginner, cancer patients, students recovering from an injury and
advanced students. Deep Stretch is the perfect way to unwind and
soothe your soul in this restorative class. We will focus on
relaxing the body in restful postures, to provide the body an
opportunity to renew and heal. Come melt away stress! This class is
sure to leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed! Deep
Stretch is a quiet, meditative yoga practice that invites you to
hold seated postures with relaxed muscles allowing for the opening
of deep connective tissues of the joints. This practice is available
to practitioners of all levels and can be safe and beneficial for
students with back, hip or shoulder pain or injuries.
ALL LEVEL
VINYASA FLOW YOGA:
This class is a blend of freestyle vinyasa
Yoga ~ awakening, mindful, fluid flow designed to get you moving,
bring your attention to the breath and find fluidity between
postures. This class is creative, fun and playful! Each class offers
core work, basic sun salutations, standing poses, balance work, and
floor work. Excellent for developing grace, flexibility, core
strength, balance, muscular strength and stress reduction.
Appropriate for students of all levels of yoga.
ALL LEVEL
HEATED YOGA ~ PLUS :
This class is practiced in a heated studio
at 80 -85 degrees in order to facilitate deep stretching and release
of toxins. This class is for those looking for a challenge and ready
to take their practice to a deeper level. Experience a flowing blend
of different styles of yoga. Each class has a different sequence of
postures (asanas). This is a class that will get the blood flowing,
build core strength, tone muscles, help you lose weight and quiet
the mind. For students interested, the offer to explore arm
balances, headstands, handstands, deep back bends and twists will be
available. For those students are not ready for the arm balances,
modifications and alternatives will ALWAYS be provided! Prerequisite
Notes: Prior yoga experience not necessary provided you listen to
your body's inner wisdom and only do what feels right for you on
your mat!!
YOGA FOR
KIDS – 9-16 YEARS; SIX-WEEK TUESDAY AFTERNOON MORNING SERIES:
Yoga and children is a fabulous mix. In light of today's growing
concerns about the risks of childhood obesity, a sedentary
lifestyle, stress epidemics and eating disorders, arming our
children with invaluable life skills is every parent's
responsibility. Classes integrate more formal instruction with
playful activities to challenge students in their yoga process as
they learn postures and breathing exercises. Stress management
techniques and meditation are also focused on. Children derive
enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their
flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In
addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation
improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply
with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the
natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner
light that all children have to the surface.
PRENATAL
YOGA - 6 WEEK TUESDAY EVENING SERIES:
This class incorporates a traditional series of
poses and breathing techniques designed to meet the specific needs
of expectant mothers. The focus is on easing the discomforts of
pregnancy and preparing body and mind for the labor and birth
process in a nurturing environment. Every class ends with a
wonderful opportunity for mother and baby to bond in the tranquility
of meditation. Appropriate for women of all fitness and experience
levels.
